About Me
My journey in product design was sparked at a young age when I began designing fine furniture. With determination, I left home at 16 to chart my own path in the world. While lacking the conventional academic qualifications due to dyslexia, I was unfazed and embarked on a remarkable journey. After a 2-year YTS training scheme in architectural joinery and fine furniture making, I secured a full-time position at Robert Coles Furniture & Architectural Joinery in Bristol. To gain admission to the prestigious London School of Furniture & Product Design, I designed and crafted a contemporary lounge table. I lugged it from Bristol to London on the train and, through persistence, convinced the deans to admit a remarkably talented young man with ambitious dreams.
I financed my Higher National Diploma by designing and showcasing furniture at prominent events such as Salone del Mobile Milano (Milan Design Week), IMM Cologne, and the ICFF High-End Luxury Furniture Fair in NYC, as part of the New Designers in Business. Additionally, I hold a First-Class Honours degree in Furniture, Interior, and Product Design from the London College of Furniture & Metropolitan University and have pursued further studies in product design and car design in Stuttgart, Germany.
My work has made appearances on popular BBC design programs such as "Amazing Spaces" and "Grand Designs," where I designed homes for Jeremy Duckworth and Natascha McElhone. My professional journey includes roles as the Creative Director at Raymond Loewy and Head of Concept and Brand Development for Visual Communications at Debenhams.
On a more personal note, I'm not only a dedicated and loyal father and husband but also an enthusiastic volunteer. I'm an avid motorcyclist and cyclist, whether on or off-road, and I enjoy catching waves as a surfer.
